Mrs Walter has set every class a gardening challenge. Early Years have the responsibility to grow fine vegetables in the vegetable plot. The children have wasted no time at all in making a wigwam for runner beans to clamber up. We have looked in the gardening book to find which vegetables are ok to plant at this time of the year and that we can harvest before the summer holiday. The children have decided to grow carrots, lettuce, radish, beetroot, courgettes and strawberries. This afternoon we worked out what things we need so that we could write a shopping list for Mrs Walter.
The children have also tidied up the outside area so that our part of the outside will look wonderful – the children are determined to win!!!
